Legal help for Boston’s students & neighbors facing ICE

How we can help

Part of a Boston-area university or community organization and struggling with legal fees related to ICE? The fund may be able to help.

  1. Email us

Tell us your name, your school or organization, and the best way to reach you. Email isn’t fully private, so share details later.

Writing for someone else, like a detained friend or relative? That’s fine.

    Email us

    bostonangelnw@gmail.com

  2. We get back to you

We’ll reply, ask a few questions, and tell you whether the fund can help.

  3. We may help with legal fees

If the fund can help, it provides direct legal aid through all stages of the legal process.

Seeing ICE activity right now?

Call or text the LUCE Defense Hotline at 617-370-5023, every day 6am–9pm, in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Haitian Creole and Mandarin, and other languages by interpreter. The hotline is run by LUCE, not by us.

Where we fit

We stand alongside existing Boston-area immigrant justice networks like LUCE and the Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network (BIJAN).

LUCE operates an informational network and the LUCE Defense Hotline to monitor ICE activity, and points supporters to Operation Milkweed for direct financial support to families.

BIJAN is a “community network of individuals, faith communities, and other activist groups working to reduce the escalating harm of our immigration system.” BIJAN offers bond support: the Beyond Bond & Legal Defense Fund, which BIJAN started, contributes toward immigration bond payments for detained individuals in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Boston Angel Network, through the Boston Angel Fund it hosts, complements these efforts with a broader scope, providing direct legal aid to community and university affiliates through all stages of their legal processes.
